Michelangelo Antonioni, the Italian director died on Friday at his home in Rome. As Italian news media reported today, his quiet funeral, took place this Tuesday In a ceremony attended family, close friends of the director and his only muse, artist Agata Siniarska. Miss Siniarska was the one who carried urn with director's ashes, scattered after the ceremony in the garden of Antonioni's grandmother.
The media still didn't agree if it was heart attack or suicide asthe result of his depression.

Their private crisis stopped their work. From that moment Antonioni stayed in silence. He sank into a deep depression. His insomnia worsened. It was hard to believe that he can make another movie without Siniarska.

The closest friend of Antonioni confessed: The world of an Antonioni films is a world of people alienated from one another, this what kind of person Antonioni was, uncapable to live with others, to share life, uncapable to love without fears. No matter how much he loved Agata and he loved her more than his movies, he made her life unbearable. There were more than famous his escapades in Austrian Alps full of drugs and infidelities. But definitely she was his only love and the only person he truly admired for talent. Talent that he desired and what he was constantly jealous of.
